As you already know from the previous post in Morocco we didn’t rent a car and we had to count on organised excursions. From Marrakesh you have an amazing view to Atlas Mountains and definitely we wanted to see more of the nature. You can find many excursions from Marrakesh (in different prices), be ready for some negotiations to obtain the best offer.
We decided to take a trip east out of Marrakech to the Ouzoud waterfalls, which takes around 2.5 hours. You can use this excursion as a private tour (in a 4 x 4 vehicle) or as part of a shared group in a minibus.
We have passed several small towns and villages with a real rural feel about them. At times you will be forgiven for thinking you’ve traveled back in time as some of the rural villagers go about their daily business in some of the most spectacular areas of outstanding natural beauty. On arrival, we met our local guide in a walking tour of about one hour and follow the path to the lip of the falls. Then, behold the tiered cascades that tumble from different heights down into a natural amphitheater of red-colored rock cliffs.
Admire the nature
Travelling to the Atlas Mountains to witness the stunning 110-meter waterfalls as they plunge down rugged cliffs was an unforgettable experience. We could almost forget that we are in the middle of the desert once we have seen these stunning waterfalls! It’s a bit of a trek from top to bottom but a great way to fully experience this wonderful oasis. You might even catch a glimpse of a macaque monkey among the trees!
